THE FLATIRON BUILDING

This is one of the most famous buildings of NY city, and a very valued office skyscraper by newyorkers due to its weird geometry. His name was taken because it resembles a clothing iron used in that time. The best point to take an outlook is the cross of Broadway with the 23rd Avenue, where the triangular shape is better appreciated. It was designed by the architect Daniel Burn in 1902, becoming the first skyscraper of the century with 87 meters height. At the beginning, this project was an expected chance by the city since it broke a local law which required rectangular roads. But it was difficult to convince investors to join the project.

Now it’s known for appearing in many popular films like “Spiderman” between others. One curiosity is that the urban planning makes this corner the most windy in the city.
