THE SECRET GARDEN

The building at the bottom of the image was the pride of the Galician Government 30 years ago. The Galician Pavillion in the World Fair of Sevilla in 1992 is located today in a hidden corner of San Lázaro neighborhood. The building is surrounded by a big garden that has been abandoned.

Nobody seems to know it and in fact, I´ve been there several times with no one in there. Apart from being a heaven of peace, the area is full of secrets.

As all the entrances to a secret garden, this granite sculpture is hidden by lush undergrowth. It is only the first monumet that we meet on our way. A big roman mosaic with the symbols of Compostela, a giant pilgrim, a kind of warrior hidden in a forest… are some of the treasures that you can discover in this walk.
