Santiago is a surprising town that everybody should rediscover. Most people only knows the

main squares, the old town, and highlighted buildings; however, Santiago also has many other

atracctions and spots that worth to be discover by visitors and locals.

One of this“hidden spots” that few people knows is Parque do Lago. This is one of the latest

places added to the green belt that sorrounds Santiago. Few years ago this lagoon was a

decanting pool for Cidade da Cultura works. This was a suburb area with no interest, but

thanks to a arquitectonic and landscape operation the area has been transformed in a green

park with some facilities to picnic , do workout o simply to spend leisure time.

Who wants to explore and enjoy this quiet and relaxing spot only has to go to the north side

of Monte Gaias.

San Pedro neighbourhood was born as the entrance to Santiago and for centuries many traders and pilgrims went through it. Nowadays, its unique essence continues to dazzle pilgrims and locals alike, who consider San Pedro one of the most representative neighbourhoods in the city.

When San Pedro wakes up, stores and coffee shops open their doors and the smooth movement of people coming and going starts. You can have breakfast in “La Churrería” while looking at the famous “Cruceiro of San Pedro”, a sort of stone cross which marks the limit between San Pedro and Concheiros street. After that, you can go for a walk to Belvis Park or, if you have time, visit the Pobo Galego museum and the Contemporary Art museum. At the end of the morning, why not try Galician gastronomy in nearby restaurants or continue wandering around and enjoying San Pedro's cultural life.

This is one of the most famous buildings of NY city, and a very valued office skyscraper by newyorkers due to its weird geometry. His name was taken because it resembles a clothing iron used in that time. The best point to take an outlook is the cross of Broadway with the 23rd Avenue, where the triangular shape is better appreciated. It was designed by the architect Daniel Burn in 1902, becoming the first skyscraper of the century with 87 meters height. At the beginning, this project was an expected chance by the city since it broke a local law which required rectangular roads. But it was difficult to convince investors to join the project.

Now it’s known for appearing in many popular films like “Spiderman” between others. One curiosity is that the urban planning makes this corner the most windy in the city.
